We’ve shared a guide explaining the costs of AC and DC chargers and how you can spread the overall price of EV chargepoint installation and aftercare.
What are AC and DC chargers used for?
AC and DC chargers are installed for different purposes. AC chargers are usually more common, benefiting businesses with lower costs, increasing customers’ duration at a business’s premises and supporting employees with electric vehicles. DC chargers, or rapid chargers, benefit quick-stop businesses, including restaurants, service stations or shopping centres.
AC chargers deliver a slow-to-fast charge, taking 1 to 12 hours, while DC chargers are quicker, charging vehicles from 10 to 80% in as little as 15 minutes.
Both chargers have different installation processes and turnaround times; for example, DC chargers can have an approximate 14-week lead time, whilst AC chargers can take around 4 weeks for completion.
How much do AC and DC chargers cost?
The cost of EV chargers depends on the EV charger, power voltage, and the number of chargers installed. Many clients choose to spread the cost of installation and aftercare through our subscription model.
