We’ve shared a guide explaining the shelf life of EV chargers, how to assess your infrastructure when the chargers become defective and the solution options.
How to assess your infrastructure with defective chargers
We’ve found many clients with defective chargers. Issues include not pulling data, working alongside the back office system, or charging properly for EV users.
Whatever the issue, it can prevent the chargers from working optimally. And for business owners, losing out on revenue and loyalty from your customers.
With chargers, regular maintenance and inspections can spot issues and potential problems before they become something more serious. For some issues, we don’t need to make a site visit; we can use the back office system to recognise and remotely solve them.
Most EV chargers have a three-year cycle, similar to other electrical equipment. After those three years, you may need to upgrade, replace or repair. Ineffective chargers don’t necessarily mean the entire charger has to be replaced. Often, we can upgrade a specific part or find ways to improve the charger without changing it out completely.
What are your options to fix defective chargers?
Our EV Refresh Scheme
If you have older chargers that need servicing or a part replacing, this is where our EV Refresh Scheme comes in.
We restore the chargers by replacing the essential part to revive them, refreshing their power, rather than replacing the entire charger. This solution is cost-effective, addresses the most prominent issues, and provides your chargers with the fix they need to work optimally for users and your business.
Site survey to find a cost-effective solution
Our experts can perform a site survey to identify the reason your chargers are ineffective and provide a cost-effective solution. We’ll share different options, aligned with your business goals, needs, budget and charger purpose, such as replacing parts, repairing software issues or replacing the entire charger.
We can also help if you’d like to install additional EV chargers at your business. As every business is different, we’ll personalise a cost-effective solution to match capacity and include maintenance and aftercare recommendations.
Suitable back office management for multi-residential use
Aftercare and maintenance are crucial for the longevity of chargers and ensuring they're working optimally. Aftercare specialists like us can manage your chargers from our back office, provide servicing and monitoring, and fix any arising issues. This can prevent regular call-outs, slow charging and chargers breaking for users.
We suggest back-office management support when installing chargers. We’ll also advise support and a long-term plan on how we can help if you don’t have any aftercare support for existing chargers on site. We can support various EV charger capacities, including multi-residential charger use.
Defective chargers can cause issues, and speaking with experts like us can prevent and repair your chargers as soon as possible.
We’re passionate about aftercare and maintenance for EV chargers, offering an EV ChargeCare package and end-to-end solutions.
