Project Case Study -Europa Logistics

Client overview: Europa Worldwide Group is one of the largest privately owned transport and logistics companies in the United Kingdom. For over 50 years, this major freight firm has provided trusted logistics services across the UK and beyond. They now employ over 1300 people across 16 sites in the UK and have a presence in more than 160 countries across the globe, offering road, air, sea and warehouse services.

As an award-winning multimodal operator that was featured in The Sunday Times Track 250 for three years running, they continue to expand and innovate. Project background and overview: Europa is investing significantly in sustainability with the government’s net zero 2050 goal as part of its drive to become a leader in responsible and sustainable logistics.

Devitech installed 11 22kw Easee electrical vehicle chargers to support Europa’s sustainability journey of reducing their carbon footprint. The electrical chargers are powered by Fuuse, a powerful charge point management platform and operating system.

Our solution: Devitech’s expertise and knowledge of working across the entire EV charging infrastructure made it an easy choice for Europa. With a proven track record of working with large firms to help electrify their operation, including clients like Wacker Neuson and DHL - Europa was reassured that its requirements were in safe hands.

Devitech started the project by working closely with Europa to understand what type of EV charger set up was required for its headquarters in Dartford. This initial conversation helped Devitech to design a cost-effective charge point strategy tailored to Europa’s specific needs that enabled online visibility of usage and costs, with a dependable unit. To deliver Europa’s EV charging strategy, Devitech partnered with various stakeholders to project manage the entire works. From organising line markings for the charging bays to employing the services of civil engineers, Devitech was able to create a complete end-to-end solution for Europa.

Benefits:

• 11 EV chargers have been installed so far at Europa’s headquarters in Dartford. The 22kw electric chargers are for both employee use and visitors.

• Stress-free service delivered to Europa, including full project management. As well as the installation of the charge points, Devitech project managed the entire works to give Europa a complete end-to-end solution. From organising line markings for the charging bays to employing the services of civil engineers.

• Because Devitech’s chargers are virtual sim enabled via 4G - the Devitech dedicated back office support team can remotely monitor Europa’s EV charger network. This means issues can be easily troubleshooted remotely, minimising the need for further and potentially costly on-site maintenance, which in turn reduces disruptions to Europa’s operation.

Robert Dyer, Facilities Manager, Europa Worldwide Group: “As an organisation, we’re proud to be making great strides towards the government’s net zero 2050 goal. Transforming every aspect of our operation - from investing in electric vehicle charge points for visitors and staff members, to improving our own energy and waste management.

Europa has partnered with Devitech to ensure our staff and visitors get access to an easy, fast and affordable solution. The rollout of our EV charging infrastructure has been great and our relationship with Devitech is working very well.”
