Going green isn't just good for the planet – it can also be good for your business. In today’s world, running a business is incredibly hard. Of all the many issues facing businesses, climate change is probably the biggest issue. With so many ways to go green in your business, you may be wondering where to start. Follow this guide for our top tips.

**Investing in renewable technology for your business**
Switching to renewable energy technology is one of the best ways to reduce your business’s carbon footprint. It’s now cheaper to run wind and solar energy than gas, so while installing solar panels and wind turbines may seem expensive, they will bring significant savings to your business in the long run.

**Adopting an EV fleet and EV chargers**
Most businesses have a fleet of cars or vans to transport goods or people. There are now so many grants to acquire EVs and their chargers in a more financially feasible way (see our [guide to EV charging grants for your business](https://devitech.co.uk/blogs-and-guides/your-easy-guide-to-electrical-vehicle-charge-point-grants)). Incorporating EV charging into your business is a relatively simple act that also serves as a walking advertisement of your sustainability efforts.

**Managing resources and waste effectively** Regardless of your business type, the most sustainable way to manage your waste is to produce less. In the construction industry, you can use
fuel-efficient construction equipment and eliminate unnecessary water usage. You should also consider managing your waste effectively to avoid contaminating the area around your site.

Other strategies include going paperless or reducing the amount of paper your business uses. You could also invest in equipment and materials with a longer lifespan to prevent them from ending up in landfills earlier.
